missy: Missy Koch was an athlete her whole life. When she was a senior at the University of Miami she was diagnosed with cancer. Desmoid fibersarcoma, an extremely rare insidious tumor that arises in the limbs of physically active people. The only cure was amputation. Bill Frakes, then a photographer at the Miami Herald, was a friend of Missy's and the two decided he would follow her the entire year and document everything she went through. That was 25 years ago. Missy has been cancer free for more than 20 years and has been married to her husband, Todd for 19. They have three adopted children, Abbey, Lukas and Joey and the family is living in Rome, Italy. Todd is writing a book on her life that is due to hit the shelves soon. You can follow his work as a composer and their life as a family at his Web site, www.toddbillingsley.com.
