Twice a year, 10 colorfully costumed horses and riders, representing 10 of Sienna’s 17 contrade, race around the medieval Piazza del Campo three times. It’s intense, physical, and always full bore.
Before the racing the Corteo Storico- a post parade in historical costumes takes place for several hours.
Truly one of the World’s greatest sporting and cultural events.
